PhD thesis on:
Modeling and optimization of permanent magnet electromagnets for Braille screen

  • Annotation: The aim of the PhD work is to develop and optimize electromagnetic constructions with built in permanent magnets that are suitable for using in Braille screens. To accomplish the goal, the following tasks need to be solved: Analysis and modeling of the existing constructions used in the Braille screens; Development and modeling of new electromagnetic devices in accordance with Braille shielding requirements; Selection of constructional design and optimization of the structure; Making a prototype of the new construction and conducting experimental research. For computer modeling, the finite element method for magnetic field analysis, as well as modern optimization methods, are used. For the experimental studies in which the characteristics of the newly created prototypes have been determined, relevant experimental arrangements have been used. A new electronic circuit has been developed to provide the required power to the studied modules. A circuit for powering and processing signals from accelerometers has been developed. The reliability of the results for the moving speed of the prototypes examined, obtained from computer modeling and experimentally by accelerometer, is confirmed by an additional experiment with a high-speed camera. / Read more...
